About Me

Welcome to my online artistic home.

My name is Bhavik Morar and I am studying First Year BArch Architecture at University of Nottingham having completed A Levels at Queen Elizabeth Boy's School, Barnet. I studied Art, Biology and Computing at A Level, and Physics and Critical Thinking at AS Level. My interests include studying Urban and Eco architecture, graphics design and web development.

My Work

I have uploaded samples of my Architecture work that I have completed at University so far, and also what I produced in earlier work experience whilst still at college.

Also, split over three sections – GCSE, AS Level, and A Level – I have scanned in copies of most of my work, primarily that which I have presented officially as part of my course. I have tried to arrange this site as a portfolio of my work, and as such, have grouped projects together in the order that I came to produce them. This order begins with research, leading to exploration and development of ideas, which allow me to arrive at a final piece.

The work that I have included on this site ranges from digital art, to fine art, mixed media, and photography. I find most of my inspiration from Constructivist art and Geometric Abstraction.

The Site

I came to create this website through a personal desire to be able to show my art work to friends, family, and prospective employers.

This site is designed using the latest CSS 2.1 techniques, coupled with the functionality of Adobe's Spry Framework (1.5). As such, javescript is depended upon for much of this site's interface and layout. A great step-up from my original (and first) website, much of this site followed a steep learning curve. I have attemped to push myself in finding the best solution, rather than the nearest "fix".

Features of this website include:

  • Javascript image preloading.
  • Complete seperation of structure and content using CSS.
  • Added functionality for zoom using EM units.
  • Space saving Spry functionality, in terms of server memory and browser viewport space.
